Frequently Asked
Questions (FAQ's)
Q.  Why do we practice 5 nights a week in august?

A.   According to pop warner rules, all football players and cheerleaders must
have 10 hours of conditioning before getting into pads or beginning to stunt
and another 10 hours in pads before they can hit.  If it was broken down to
less, they would not have the conditioning or hitting to prepare them for their
games.

Q.  What if i have a vacation planned for the start of the season?

A.  We do understand that this is a youth sport and families have vacations
planned.  Your child will have to complete the appropriate conditioning before
being able to join into the physical aspects of football or cheering.

Q.   How many hours do they practice once school starts?

A.   Practices will be cut down to 3 nights for Jr. Pee wee up to midgets and 2
nights for tiny mites and mitey mites.

Q.   If i have a question or a complaint who do i talk to?

A.   There is a chain that we ask all parents to follow.  If you are having an
issue with a coach, we ask that you speak directly to that coach.  If you feel
uncomfortable doing that alone, you may ask the cheering director or football
director to be involved with the conversation or go directly to them without the
coach and a plan will be made to rectify the situation. If they are unavailable,
you can approach any board member and they will assist you in any way
needed.

Q.  Why can't my daughter wear earrings or nail polish?

A.  These rules set up by Pop Warner for safety reasons.  If a girl is stunting
and the stunt goes wrong..ears, hair, etc. can be brushed against or pulled by
flailing body parts.  Earrings can be pulled out causing a rip in the ear, and if
there is a question of a bone injury in ankles or arms, the medical staff needs
to see the color of the nail beds on the hand or foot effected to see if there is
proper  blood flow.

Q.  Why does my daughter need to have her hair up, what if she doesn't like it
that way?

A.  Again, this is a safety rule.  When a cheerleader is stunting or tumbling, her
hair needs to be out of the way.  If her bangs are in the way and she can not
see properly she can lose a stunt and be injured or another girl could be
injured, 0r if her hair is loose and gets caught in another girls hands or feet, it
can pull it and put dangerous pressure on her neck.  Just as the football
players need to follow the rules and wear all the proper protection, our girls
need to do the same.
